CCLF Annual Report

The Chicago Community Loan Fund (CCLF) is a community development financial institution (CDFI), servering the greater Chicago area. Check out our news item to learn more about CDFI’s. We’ve worked with CCLF on several projects, starting with the design and construction of their online tool Building for Sustainability. That was followed by re-designing their organization website. 

Building for Sustainability is full of resources for architects, contractors, and building owners interested in energy efficient design, construction, and retrofit. The new website replaced a publication, so we needed to let people know about the new resource. The first postcard we designed for CCLF simply drew people to the site. Our second postcard helped CCLF promote their upcoming workshops and trainings on sustainable building for 2011.

We worked with CCLF to put together their 2009-2010 annual report, assisting them in identifying the themes, stories, and images for their various audiences. We put together a few initial design directions for staff to review and revised their selection until we had a finished template. We provided direction to their photographer and selected images to populate each page with the content. We provided content editing and coordinated printing and shipping to deliver the finished copies right to their door.

CCLF wanted to reduce their paper use and print costs in the Annual Report process. We set up a digital publication tool, embedding the report on their website and allowing CCLF to easily link their constituents to the page. The number of printed reports and mailing costs were cut substantially.
